the first release on freerotation brings together 4 core residents, juju, jordash, move d and soulphiction with the organizer of the festival steevio in a joint project of live hardware jam sessions. the high on wye quintet: 5 men, a modular synthesizer and a mountain of hardware, crammed into steevios bijou studio in the welsh hills for 2 days after freerotation 2012. they had one ambition, to somehow transmute the energy from a weekend of heavy partying and performing, into a live improvised album of tripped out, ambient and deep techno. the result: the hafod jams (in several parts).

after making waves with early and idiosyncratic eps on labels like rush hour and astro:dynamics, singular uk talent bnjmn now steps up to make his debut on delsin with six tracks of experimental and inventive noise and techno. coil opens his account with screechy, unnerving synths squeals, imposing and throbbing pads and super deep kick drums that come at you from miles below. it s a hugely textured and spine tingling affair before the ambiance of berth comes rippled with glassy and alien little melodies. merge has turbo charged drums hiding beneath more unsettled synth based noise that sound sernee at the same time as being paranoid. on the flip, and suddenly makes your hairs stand on end with is gothic celestial glow and slithering synth patterns, blown is a damaged and degraded bit of icy, thumping and reverb heavy techno and azure ends on a brain soothing, chilled out ambient high. these are the sort of truly unique and magically textured tracks you would expect from a producer like bnjmn, and mark a fine debut on delsin.

mallorcas dakpa has been on a roll since amam released his debut ep last fall. he has contributed to several compilations, including amams own hand out series, kina music s fade to k pt. 3 and wizz vinyl s sonar sampler 2014, plus eps for labels like district raw and serial number 849. but amam gets the honor of issuing his first own vinyl release, the distres ep. the opening title track is an exercise in jacking minimalism, vibrant tech house with just the essentials, but more than enough to get the floor moving. then, ademus gets into a slightly more colorful groove, with tropical percussive interplay and some whooping voice for a humanistic accent (is that brigitte bardot?). on the flip, virgo gives a modern update to the frenzy of acid house. the title alone brings virgo four to mind. on that note, this one is an effective tool for warping minds and evoking spastic dance moves. finally, the dependable gaetano vinci a.k.a. hooved reinterprets ademus with a heavy dose of melodic funk and symphonic washes, making the track into an entirely new creation.

after 4 years of silence, kreon & lemos are back with their first release on their own imprint, equivalence. having already a number of collaborations on labels such as be chosen, resopal and we are, the duo finished a number of projects that are going to be released exclusively on equivalence. the first record offers two dancefloor oriented techno tracks with heavy low frequency, modulated delays and heavy filtering - a modern take on the duos past collaborations.

longtime raíz collaborator subversive makes his debut on droid sister label vrv with chainbreaker. subversive has appeared previously on historia y violencia and contruct re-form (under the name deception plan with voiski). this release for vrv is a collection of 3 tracks that reflect his focused, methodical programming. the title track stretches a deep, driving narrative over the course of 7 minutes, perfect for adding hypnotic breathing room to any set. the other side contains intergalactic, a subtle and harmonic passage that sets the stage for a2, telemore. telomere begins with intense, brooding synth design that inevitably builds into heavy rhythm structures, providing the sets most driving dance sounds.

the 6-track *swim mountain ep* was self-recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist tom skyrme half in los angeles, half in london and features the widely-blogged *dream it real*. the ep is a psych-pop collage of sounds fusing 60s studio ethics and modern production techniques. drawing influences from the harmony-heavy songwriters of the 60s and 70s (argent & blunsonte, rundgren, nillson and the wilson brothers) and the bossa nova chord progressions of brazilians tom jobim and joao gilberto. having been composed and recorded between the juxtaposing environments of rainy london streets and the sunny beaches of la, this accomplished debut has a a genuinely unique sound that is truly striking for a debut record.

afro-space-disco contagion - shuffling and wiggling, synthy and bubbling - from this re-incarnation of willy nfors mighty flames, recruited mostly from the wave of cameroonian musicians drawn to nigeria in the late-1970s by its heavy new funk sound.

it s only so long before liam geddes becomes a name you ll start hearing on the worldwide underground stage. having already churned out a number of uncompromisingly deep house tracks over the past couple of years, he comes armed with another exceptional ep on mil - the third release on the new music is love sister label - that further demonstrates his genuine dynamism as a producer. the with closed eyes ep should win this very talented producer the recognition his fresh beat work deserves into the wild gets proceedings underway, a ripping bassline paves out over rattling percussion shakes while oscillating dream like jingles play out during the course of the track. chopped vocal samples are introduced and tease against the shuffling drums which elevates the track with real drive and groove. close ya eyes for the journey packs the same layer of heat with its similarly groove-heavy bassline - a staple of geddes well-crafted sound. firmly footed, intermittent chimes seep into the track and are complemented by siren-like chords which grow truer in presence, until a hypnotic vocal snippet fulfils the deep terrains of the track. a saint is a tumultuous techno-fused roller with it s rip-roaring bassline and percussive loops which rhythmically swing out over shuddering pads, sustained chords and a cut up female vocal, brining a twist of colour to the arrangements of the track. there s a keen sense of tension and release, elevating this above your average and confirms geddes does depth and darkness with real conviction. broke will surely prove a high point for any decent dj set, and sounds like a cut you d expect from someone like delano smith. strings faintly play out over looped key chimes and a funk-like riff, while ticking hi-hats and a careful use of vocal sample gives the track extra heat, each element powered by the rumbling bassline.

fernandos debut for leng was the universally well received mid-tempo monster *blue impala*. now he is back with yet another hypnotic bass heavy workout. *giant desert* takes the same low slung approach with some heavy guitar work from fiorucci. this is really is chugging music at its best, with flashes of vocal, analog synths and a dirty rock guitar combining to keep that head nodding. the extended dub allows fiorucci more space to hit the groove and the guitar work becomes epic.

next up on !organism is a bravely entitled ep from german producer chris colburn complete with remixes from petter b. colburn, who runs his own label rohmaterial, has been making heavy techno since 2005 on labels like 8 sided dice, decoy records and driving forces and this summer is to head out on tour across europe. this new ep shows he is an innovative talent with plenty to say for himself.

after nearly a year has passed by - and kitted out with heavy hitting drum timbres, hook laden nuances and a textured palette of unique effects - south african born esa makes a welcome return to the burek family fold with another ep that skirts the boundaries of the dance-floor and soaks up the sights and sounds of those on the peripheral edges. a family thats consisted of many strays and deviants being welcomed in, esas ep is another mellifluous fit for the croatian based house label that prides itself on beats that drip with greasy flavour and a fine follow on from his killer ‘serenity in a forbidden place ep for the label in july of 2013.

skylax welcomes f.t.g., known to house music scholars as freddy the groove, and his many friends for our next release in 2014. last year, f.t.g. and his italian partner in crime, marco riff (who also appears on this very record), pressed a very limited run of a single-sided, special throwback tribute to late 80s chicago house music. the track was aptly named ‘tribute ’89’, and it put a more dancefloor oriented twist on a track by a certain originator with the initials r.h. needless to say, it became highly sought-after incredibly quickly and fuel was further added to the fire by the repeated club play by none other than the dj idol ricardo villalobos. luckily for our followers, that original mix appears on this ep with another unreleased mix of the track and 2 originals featuring belfie and alex tea alongside f.t.g.with enough said about ‘tribute ‘89’ itself, the unreleased mix maintains the warehouse vibe with a heavy kick and bouncing bass pattern but takes it to another level with the introduction of rolling vocal cuts and a rather ravey synth line. flipping over the to b-side, we are treated with two tracks by f.t.g. and alex tea, named ‘public enemy’ and ‘bango’, with the former also seeing belfie lend a helping hand in the production. both of these originals round out the record nicely and cement it as another skylax release that is definitely not to be missed

publicist is longtime producer/performer/musician sebastian thomson. his tracks approach house music from a darker angle, adding processed vocals and noise to a raw foundation that also takes cues from new beat, acid house, and detroit techno. when performing live publicist sequences the synths and not the drums, preferring to play an electronically treated drum kit in the middle of the dance floor. this adds an element of sweat, excitement and virtuosity not found in most electronic producer s live performances. sebastian thomson is also known as a founding member of post rock pioneers trans am and as the drummer of heavy metal innovators baroness. living in brooklyn by way of buenos aires, washington dc and london, publicist has spent the last four years touring europe extensively.

following the success of the digital release of sleazy mcqueens *you know how ep*, upstart label, cvmr were compelled to press the remixes to vinyl. the proceedings open in superb style thanks to the revenges live dub. a bass heavy tool with equal parts classic house and disco, with a touch of arthur baker-style drums. on a2, sleazy mcqueens space coast take things to the basement with the help of romano arcaini (latenight society), warm rhodes, live bass and an absolute drum-break-freakout add a decidedly different dub flavor to the package. b/w compost blacks main man kasper bjorke offers his acid tinged interpretation, driven by a gritty saw-wave bass hook, rolling snare hits, wanderings arps and crunchy drums, a simply stunning piece of music as expected from the undeniably talented copenhagen born producer. closing out the remix ep, cvmr in-house producer, century strips back the vibe to a dropped tempo, emotive workout fuelled be heavily reverberated piano chords, echoing vocal lines and a general chuggy, low-slung vibe throughout.

here s something to stir the loins of any discerning disco dj: a studio hook-up between veteran producer felix dickinson (fresh from his much-loved outing on futureboogie recordings), horse meat disco and one-time dfa man (and renowned multi-instrumentalist) marcus marr. there s an additional contributor, too: a mystery (presumably big-name) vocalist whose talk-box heavy delivery sits somewhere between prince, george clinton and pharrell. the track itself is something of a summer anthem in the making - an immaculately produced p-funk jam with the additional benefit of a shuffling, house-friendly groove. no details on how many copies have been pressed, either way, you d be well advised to snap up a copy while you still can.
